Curriculum is a tool that is used to guide educators to pre-determined outcomes or standards. I think that all stakeholders should have various levels of input in determining which curriculum to choose. Many times the curriculums are developed by peolpe who have been out of the classrooms for many years or by people who have never taught. I am kind of on the fence on who should control the curriculum. I want to say that local school district should control on the other hand I want the teachers and adminstrators to control it but there would be no consistency in the district.

Why would you want the district to control the curriculum? Do you mean the department supervisors or do you mean the board? I find it very difficult to understand that some districts have people who never taught develop curriculum. I'm glad our district includes teachers. Our problem is that it is pretty much up to the teacher to decide what should be in the curriculum. We get very little guidelines; however, it does allow for freedom.
